This blog is my very first internet project.
I know nothing about HTML, CSS, PHP, etc. In another word, I am the direct opposite of being web savvy. I would consider myself an absolute nut when it comes to internet technology. And yet, I am willing to learn and embrace the technology of this ingenious invention which is still in its early years of transforming man’s life and creating new height in human history.
After more than ten years of corporate life, and even more years of searching for true meaning in life and exploring breakthrough in personal development (I started this process during my teenage years), I have finally made a decision to change my life course. It is a real blessing to be living in this internet age. I am glad to have taken the opportunity to participate actively in the internet revolution and live an internet lifestyle.
It has been a long process of soul searching -one filled with ups and downs, exhilaration and depression. But I think the journey is well worth its while. As the saying goes: In everything, there is a timing.
There is a time you landed your first dream job.
There is a time you find your love.
There is a time you start a family.
There is a time when you found out that your dream job is just part of your ego trip.
There is a time you achieve clarity in what you really want in life.
There is a time you realize your true life purpose.
There is a time you start living life consciously.
There is a time you start picking up hobbies and passions that have been shelved for years due to other commitments.
There is a time you quit your day job.
There is a time you begin a new journey in life.
So, here I am, starting a new journey in life, at an age when most people (myself included) is plagued with mid-life crisis.
This blog is my platform for self-expression as well as knowledge sharing. It will also be a tool for my personal development.
I will share about interests and hobbies that I am passionate about:
- I jog almost every morning and run marathon.
- I swim, go to gym, and am starting to do more yoga.
- I am curious about alternative health treatment, and practises self-massage (hand and foot).
- I started keeping fishes (mostly Cichlids) only a few years ago, and am fascinated with this hobby.
- I love fishing too, but consider myself a novice.
- I like painting since young but have not really go far in this hobby since started working. However, I have recently took up a Chinese painting course to further develop this childhood hobby.
- I like reading, buying and keeping books and magazines, both English and Chinese.
- I like to write too, which is only natural for anyone who have been reading for years and yearning for an outlet of self-expression. With the start of this blog, I look forward to writing more.
- I love food and I always feel that it is a privilege to be living in a small country (Singapore) with a wide and exotic varieties of local food.
- I love cooking, and found that this complement well with my love for food.
I look forward to engage in this exciting journey with like-minded people like you.
Last but not least, I would like to share a short inspiring movie with you….
Having taken the entrepreneurial path for a while now, I’ve learned that the difference in success or failure is not how you look, not how you dress, not even how you’re educated. It’s how you think!
In many ways we’re all alike; however, one little difference always makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude.
In the following 3-minute inspirational movie, I’d like to share with you some of the keys to staying positive in today’s world. So sit back, turn up your speakers and click on the picture below:
Hope you enjoy the movie!
Cheers,
Jordan
